The Diocese of Camden will hold trainings in the coming weeks for clergy and music ministers in the use of the Roman Missal in Spanish.
Misal Romano is the first Missal in Spanish approved by the U.S. bishops, and will soon be the only version authorized for use in the United States.
Before Misal Romano, U.S. priests or bishops chose a Spanish edition that had been approved by another country’s bishops’ conference, such as Mexico, Argentina or Spain.
The new missal includes propers for days especially for the United States that can’t be found in Missals from other countries.
Training for priests and deacons will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24 (Spanish), and Thursday, Nov. 8 (English) from 1-5 p.m. (starting with lunch) at the Saint John Paul II Retreat Center, 414 South Eighth Street, Vineland.
Training for music ministers will be held in Spanish on two dates: Wednesday, Oct. 24, and Thursday, Nov. 8. Both sessions will be held 6:30-9:30 p.m. (starting with light dinner) at Monsignor Victor Muro’s Hall, 414 South Eight Street, Vineland.
There is no need to attend both sessions.
The training is free and any church leader is welcome to attend. Please register as soon as possible. For registration or more information, contact Damaris Thillet, 856-583-2810 or email dthillet@camdendiocese.org
The training sessions are being sponsored by the Camden Diocese’s Office of Worship and Christian Initiation, and the Office of Hispanic Ministry.
