The Diocese of Camden’s Office of Worship and Christian Initiation in collaboration with the Hispanic Ministry Office are looking for young singers in the Diocese of Camden, from age 9 up to age 14, to participate in the recording of three original pieces of music that will be included in an upcoming publication by Oregon Catholic Press.
OCP, a worldwide Catholic music publisher, is in the process of creating a bilingual songbook to be used in parish religious education programs during Advent, Christmas and Epiphany.
Damaris Thillet, associate director of Worship and Christian Initiation for the diocese, and her husband, Diego Correa, both composers and musicians, composed three original Spanish pieces for the songbook: “Celebremos Navidad,” “Alegría” and “Hoy ha Nacido en Belén.”
At the end of this month, the youth singers, led by Thillet, will record the three pieces, to be sent to Oregon Catholic Press.
Interested singers can contact Damaris Thillet at dthillet@camdendiocese.org, or call 856-583-6172. Youth need not speak Spanish, to participate.
