Faithful filled Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church the evening of Feb. 16 for a Eucharistic Holy Hour held in Absecon. The evening included music and time for prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament and a reflection by Father John Buckthese, OCD, parochial vicar at the Parish of Saint Monica, Atlantic City. Father Buckthese shared the teachings of Saint Thomas Aquinas on the Eucharist, saying, “The Blessed Sacrament is the living food that gives life to the Church. It is the real presence of Jesus that makes the Church. In the Blessed Sacrament is a supernatural transformation. We are changed by what we eat.” The Holy Hour was sponsored by the Secretariat for Pastoral Outreach and the Secretariat for Hispanic Ministry and Evangelization.
