The Knights of Columbus Saint Jude Council #6551 has announced the winners of this year’s Mignogna Family Memorial Scholarship.
Jacqueline Kishbaugh, a student of Paul VI High School, Haddonfield, and Tyler Gerst, of Saint Augustine Preparatory School, Richland, will each receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship.
Each year, the tuition scholarship is given to students currently attending a Catholic high school. This year, students were required to submit an essay about the person he/she admires most.

Kishbaugh’s entry was a tribute to her mother and the lessons learned about serving others using God’s gifts. She cited specific examples of how her mother’s advice and examples have inspired her to give her time to the local food bank and the Special Olympics.
In his essay, Gerst wrote about the legacy of civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, and how Chavez has inspired him in his Catholic faith to embrace principles of justice and empathy.
“The Knights of Columbus St. Jude Council #6551 Scholarship Committee was inspired by these amazing students and the numerous other essays submitted – approximately 70,” stated the council, which is based in Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish, Gibbsboro.
