On March 22, elementary and high school principals from across the Diocese of Camden came together at the Franciscan Missionaries of the Infant Jesus Hospitality and Retreat Center in Cherry Hill for their annual Lenten retreat. Led by Laurie Power, director of religious education at Christ the Redeemer Parish, Atco, the retreat had as its theme, “There’s Something Greater Here.” Throughout the morning, Power led the group through spiritual readings and moments of reflection, even having several principals share moments where God “took their breath away.” The day – which was attended by Dr. Bill Watson, superintendent of Catholic schools, and his diocesan staff – concluded with a Mass celebrated by Msgr. Roger E. McGrath and lunch, where the principals had an opportunity to discuss the second half of the school year.
