Bishop Joseph A. Galante announces the retirement of five priests:
— Father Patsy C. Amabile, who is currently serving outside the Camden Diocese at Our Lady of Lourdes, West Islip, N.Y., will retire July 1;
— Msgr. William P. Brennan, pastor, of Christ the King Parish, Haddonfield, will retire June 30;
— Father Daniel A. DiNardo, parochial vicar, Holy Cross Parish, Bridgeton, will retire June 30;
— Father Massimo S. Fasciglione, parochial vicar, St. Damien Parish, Ocean City, will retire May 31;
— Msgr. Thomas J. Morgan, pastor of St. Mary Parish and St. Thomas More Parish, both in Cherry Hill, will retire June 30.
Father Amabile, 69, was ordained on Jan. 20, 1973 in Brooklyn, New York, after studies at Loyola College, Babltimore, and St. John’s University, New York. Incardinated into the Camden Diocese in 1996, he served as pastor at Sacred Heart, Vineland, from 1999-2009.
He also was parochial vicar, St. Edward, Pine Hill, from 1991-96; St. Thomas More, Cherry Hill from 1996-99; and Our Lady of Lourdes, West Islip, N.Y. from 2009-12.
He continues In-Residence at Our Lady of Lourdes.
Msgr. Brennan, 75, was ordained in Camden on May 25, 1963, after studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary, Dalrlington, N.J. He also studied at Villanova University, earning a master’s degree in American history.
He served as pastor at Incarnation, Mantua (1985-97), and St. Pius X, Cherry Hill (1997-2009); and he has been pastor of Christ the King, Haddonfield since 2009.
He also served as principal at Gloucester Catholic High School, Gloucester City, and Camden Catholic High School, Cherry Hill.
Father DiNardo, 74, was ordained in Camden on May 21, 1966. He studies at Immaculate Conception Seminary and Villanova University.
He served the Hispanic community as Vicar for Hispanics, Director of the Vineland Catholic Spanish Center, Vineland, and director of the Spanish Ministry in Cumberland County
He served on the faculty at Paul VI High School, Haddon Township, and at Holy Spirit High School, Absecon, and as administrator of Holy Spirit Parish, Atlantic City, 1974-77.
He continues In-Residence at Holy Cross, Bridgeton.
Father Fasciglione, 69, was ordained in Barrington on May 20, 1974, after studies at Cathedral College, New York, and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Philadelphia.
He was associate chaplain at Cooper University Hospital, Camden; and chaplain of John F. Kennedy Hospital, Stratford, and Burdette Tomlin Hospital, Cape May Court House.
He was administrator at St. Veronica Parish, Delair, 2003-09, and administrator and pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Ocean City (2009-11).
He also was a religion teacher at Camden Catholic High School, Cherry Hill.
Msgr. Morgan, 70, was ordained a priest on June 6, 1965, in Kilkenny, Ireland. He studied at Iona College, New Rochele, N.Y., and Temple University, Philadelphia, where he earned a doctorate in psychology.
He served as pastor at Queen of the Apostles, Pennsville (1990-96) and Christ the King, Haddonfield (1996-2002).
He is currently pastor of two parishes, St. Thomas More, Cherry Hill since 2003, and St. Mary Parish, Cherry Hill, since 2011.
Msgr. Morgan has held several administrative positions in the diocese, including director of vocations, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia. He was Apostolic Administrator for the Camden Diocese in 2003.
