Bishop Dennis Sullivan will be celebrating two Masses along the Jersey Shore in August in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Wedding of the Sea.
On Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 4:30 p.m., Bishop Sullivan will celebrate a Vigil Mass for the Assumption at Wildwood’s Notre Dame de la Mer Parish, Saint Ann Church (2901 Atlantic Ave.). Following the Mass, there will be a procession to the ocean for the Wedding of the Sea. For more information, visit notredamedelamer.org.
At noon Thursday, Aug. 15, the Bishop will celebrate Mass on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Hard Rock Casino’s Etess Arena – 1000 Boardwalk, Atlantic City – with the Parish of Saint Monica. Following the Mass, a procession will begin on Pennsylvania Avenue and proceed to the beach for the Wedding of the Sea ceremony. This year, the parish is inviting all to make the celebration a destination event by staying for the weekend and attending a luncheon at the Hard Rock’s Harvest Buffet after the Blessing of the Sea.
