Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel

Beginning on Sunday, July 13, St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish in Hammonton will hold a week-long series of events celebrating the feast of its namesake.
A healing Mass will be celebrated Sunday, July 13 at 3 p.m. in St. Joseph Church.
On Wednesday, July 16, the actual feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church. The day-long schedule includes:

– 7:30 a.m.: Mass for the intentions of all our pilgrims
– 9 a.m.: Mt. Carmel Society Mass for deceased members, with Bishop Dennis Sullivan
– 10:30 a.m.: Italian Mass
– 12 noon: Spanish Mass
– 2 p.m.: Mass for deceased members of the parish
– 4 p.m.: Procession of images through Hammonton
– 6 p.m.: Mass of thanksgiving for the many prayers answered by Our Lady
– Confession Schedule: after 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Masses and at 5 p.m.

On Thursday, July 17, The Third Annual Idol Singing Contest at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Feast will take place at 7 p.m. on the stage in the St. Joseph parking lot. The contest is open to high school students age 14-19 (graduating seniors only). Prizes include $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $100 for third place. From Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18, there will be daily Mass at 5:30 p.m., followed by a novena. The schedule is as follows:

– Monday, July 14: Mary, Comforter of the Afflicted (Father Joe Capella)
– Tuesday, July 15: Mary, Queen of the Rosary (Father Tom Donio) Living Rosary following Mass
– Thursday, July 17: Mary, Queen of Families bi-lingual Mass (Father Steve Pinzon)
– Friday, July 18: Mary, Ark of the Covenant (Father Tom Donio,), with Adoration from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
