Student by student, class by class, Saint Michael the Archangel Regional School, Clayton, came together Sept. 29 to perform acts of kindness for the community, families and friends during the Good Deed-A-Thon fundraiser.
The day provided an opportunity for all PreK through eighth-grade students to learn about and reinforce the importance of service. Among the day’s activities were writing thank you notes and collecting toiletries, food, gently used toys, etc. for an area food shelter, hospital, animal shelter and more as well as planning surprises for school faculty, bus drivers and others. The fundraiser, held on the Feast of the Archangels, raised nearly $15,000 as of press time, which will go toward literacy and early childhood education programs, STEAM classroom materials and technology updates.
Above, PreK-4 students helped “color the world with kindness.”

Sixth-graders collected items for Home For the Brave, a transitional housing program for veterans.

Youth delivered notes of gratitude to staff.
