For more than 30 years, the annual “Afternoon of Jazz, Plus” has benefited young students of Black and African descent in the Diocese of Camden who want to pursue a Catholic education.
The tradition continues April 6, as the Diocese’s Black Apostolate as well as the Black Catholic Ministry Commission host the 33rd event of fine dining, fellowship, dancing and jazz at Sapphire Grand (formerly Auletto Caterers) in Deptford.
“To the Max” will provide entertainment, while recipients of last year’s BCMC Catholic high school scholarships will address the audience and express gratitude to benefactors for their support.
The event will be from 2-7 p.m.; tickets cost $75 per person. The Sapphire Grand is located at 1849 Cooper St., Deptford.
