Maggie Carcillo

Volleyball
Maggie Carcillo finished her outstanding high school career as one of the best all-around volleyball players in South Jersey history.
After one year at Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield, Pa., Carcillo made a remarkable impact at Paul VI, as the team compiled a 70-8 record over the last three years, including a 26-1 run this season.

Carcillo, a resident of South Philadelphia, will continue her volleyball career next year in the Big East at Saint John’s University in New York.

Taylor Cartwright
Holy Spirit High School, Absecon
Football
Taylor Cartwright heated up as the weather got colder, helping the Holy Spirit High School football team make a deep push into the Non-Public B playoffs.
In November, Cartwright, a senior wide receiver, caught 28 passes for 397 yards and five touchdowns. His two-touchdown, 144-yard performance Nov. 14 fueled the Spartans to a 34-27 upset win over Donovan Catholic in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.
Cartwright ended his high school career on Thanksgiving with a career-high 164 yards on 10 catches (one TD) against Atlantic City. He ended up with 74 career catches for 1,007 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Hunter Kintzing
Paul VI High School, Haddonfield
Soccer
Hunter Kintzing helped the Paul VI girls soccer team reach perfection.
The junior led the team in goals (22), including some of the most clutch moments of the season, as the Eagles finished an undefeated season (24-0) with their second straight Non-Public A state championship.
Kintzing kicked off November by jumpstarting her team Nov. 1 in the championship game of the South Jersey Coaches Cup, when the Eagles rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat Shawnee for the school’s first ever title. She then scored six of her team’s 13 playoff goals, including a hat trick against Mount Saint Mary on Nov. 6.

John Lamanteer
Saint Augustine Preparatory School, Richland
Soccer
John Lamanteer was a steady contributor to the Saint Augustine Preparatory School soccer team’s late season surge, as the team finished with an impressive 18-3-1 record.
Lamanteer scored 14 goals this season and was the catalyst of an exciting playoff rally as he potted the first of two Hermits’ goals to erase a two-goal deficit in a 3-2 PK win over Saint John Vianney in the quarterfinal round of the Non-Public A playoffs on Nov. 6.
Four days later, Lamanteer supplied the only Hermits’ goal in a 2-1 loss to Christian Brothers Academy in the semifinal round.
Lamanteer has 20 career goals and 10 assists heading into his senior season at Saint Augustine Preparatory, which won the Cape-Atlantic American Division for the third straight year.

Giovanna Mantuano
Paul VI High School, Haddonfield
Cross Country
Paul VI senior Giovanna Mantuano ended her high school cross country career with a bang by running 18:54 at the Meet of Champions on Nov. 15 at Holmdel to help the Eagles secure their best team finish in 35 years.
Mantuano finished 13 seconds behind teammate Grace Gutowski (18:41) as the duo became the first teammates from Paul VI to finish in the top-25 at the event since 1991. The Eagles took third place as a team in the state – their best finish since taking second-place in 1990.
A week prior, Mantuano ran 19:37 at Holmdel to take ninth place, as the Eagles finished second in the Non-Public A state championships.
Mantuano will run at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., next year.

Sophia Stazi

Field Hockey
Sophia Stazi finished her junior year with her third consecutive 30-goal season to continue a trend of leading the Irish in goal scoring for the third straight season.
Stazi reached the impressive 100-goal milestone for her career in the South Jersey Non-Public championship game by scoring four goals on Nov. 12 in a 6-2 win at Saint Joseph Academy in Hammonton. It was her fourth four-goal game of the season and the 10th of her career. Stazi helped fuel the Irish to their sixth straight appearance in the Non-Public state championship game and a 17-7 record.
Stazi, a Rutgers University commit, will enter her senior season with 100 career goals and 49 assists.
