The Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal in Atlantic City are holding a formation day Nov. 12 for those interested in helping their neighbors in need during the winter.
The Saint Joseph Winter Shelter at the Parish of Saint Monica’s Quaremba Hall helps the city’s homeless by providing a warm meal, bed and hospitality during the year’s coldest nights. The shelter will be open Monday-Thursday, Dec. 12 to March 10.
The volunteer formation day will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at Quaremba Hall and provide an opportunity for attendees to learn how they can help at the shelter in ways such as covering night shifts, cooking meals and setup.
Quaremba Hall is behind Saint Michael’s Church, 10 North Mississippi Avenue, Atlantic City. For more information, call Sister Joseph at 609-343-1545.
