In solidarity with those marching for life in Washington, D.C., Saint Brendan the Navigator Parish will offer prayers – celebrating, valuing and protecting life, and affirming the beauty and dignity of every individual – on Jan. 19 at its Maris Stella Church, Avalon.
The event will begin with 8 a.m. Mass celebrated by Father James Betz, senior priest, followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, litanies for life, recitations of the Rosary, and prayer of the Divine Mercy chaplet.
Open to all faithful, the day “will raise our voices and prayers loud and clear to God, for life,” says Mantura Gallagher, a member of the parish’s liturgy committee and organizer of its pro-life activities.
In Avalon, participants will unite with those pilgrims in D.C. and throughout the country engaged in the pro-life cause, who “share the truth about the value of every human life,” she says.
Father William Kelly, parish pastor, will close the prayerful gathering at noon with Benediction and Reposition of the Blessed Sacrament.
Maris Stella Church is located at 252 50th St., Avalon. For more information, contact the parish at 609-967-3746.
