The Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council #1443, Haddon Township, sponsored the annual foul shooting contest for boys and girls ages 9-14 on Jan. 6. For more than 50 years, Knights councils have held the basketball free throw contest to provide an athletic outlet for youth, and encourage sportsmanship and healthy competition. Participants compete within their own gender and age, and winners receive a trophy; they can progress from local level to district, regional and state/province competitions. The winners from Jan. 6 are: Boys age 14, Colton Gasiorowski (above); boys age 13, Sean Wiltsey; girls age 12, Emily O’Neill (below); boys age 11, Gabriel Norquist; boys age 10, Brendan Spanek; girls age 10, Quinn Wiltsey, and boys age 9, Charlie Petrillo. Emily O’Neill and Colton Gasiorowski won in their respective age categories during the annual free throw contest in Collingswood.
