Under a setting sun, the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish faithful, along with Knights of Columbus Council 6513, gathered Sept. 7 at Dan Graiff Farms as Bishop Dennis Sullivan celebrated the Vigil Mass for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. During the bilingual liturgy, Bishop Sullivan spoke on the importance of asking for the Blessed Mother’s intercession, especially for God’s blessing on the Newfield farm, its workers and the parish community. Father Ariel Hernandez, parish pastor, concelebrated the Closing Mass of the Summer Farm Ministry. Deacon Charles Schiapelli was among the deacons who assisted. Bishop Sullivan also asked for the intercession of Saint Sebastian, the patron saint of athletes, as he blessed members of the parish’s new sports ministry. (Photos by Mike Walsh)
