With open arms and hearts, parishioners of Saint Gabriel the Archangel Parish, Carneys Point, honored the Blessed Virgin Mary under her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe the evening of Dec. 11. Festivities kicked off with an Our Lady of Guadalupe procession of trucks and cars, mariachi music and small floats of Our Lady appearing to Saint Juan Diego – all of which made its way around the neighborhoods surrounding the church. Parishioners greeted the procession upon its return, with all filing into the church for rosary prayers and a skit by young adults telling the story of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Afterward, hundreds gathered in the parish hall for food and friendship, dances, music and more.
