Brian Wagner, an outreach case worker with Catholic Charities of South Jersey, speaks with veterans Aug. 13 at the Corporal Joseph C. Toulson VFW Post 253 in Salem. Every second Wednesday of the month, 40-50 women and men who served in the Armed Forces gather for breakfast and camaraderie. As the speaker for August, Wagner talked about Catholic Charities’ Supportive Services for Veteran Families and what it provides, including helping veterans who face home insecurity. “We don’t want to see anyone on the streets,” Wagner explained. The monthly breakfast is sponsored by Together with Veterans of Salem County, which provides suicide prevention support for veterans in rural areas. To reach SSVF, visit catholiccharitiessouthjersey.org/veteran-services or call 856-340-9242.
