After confirming them earlier this month, the 27 confirmandi of Christ the Redeemer Parish in Atco showed their appreciation for Bishop Dennis Sullivan with a birthday card and donation to the House of Charity.
“We like to honor the bishop when he visits,” said Father Chris Mann, pastor.
The birthday card and $500 gift arrived just in time for Bishop Sullivan’s March 17th birthday, and will help the House of Charity in its mission to support the diocese’s programs throughout South Jersey.
Remarking on the gesture, Mariann Gilbride, Director of Development, said that her office is “grateful to the newly confirmed students from Christ the Redeemer Parish for their generous gift.”
“Saint Paul wrote ‘You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity’ (2 Cor. 9:11). In addition, we are grateful to the parish for inspiring in our youth, the need to give back for all of their blessings. We pray this lesson will go with them into adulthood, as they work to build the Church for the next generation.”
