Clergy from the Diocese of Camden came together recently for a daylong Diaconate Convocation, which had as its theme, “Go in Peace to Love and Serve the Lord.” Gathered Dec. 2 at Incarnation Parish, Mantua, the day included a visit and encouraging words from Bishop Dennis Sullivan. The morning began with a video on Catholic social teaching and a talk by the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal, who shared their work and experiences serving in Atlantic City. Dr. Michael Sims, director of the Diocese’s Office of Life & Justice Ministries, also spoke, addressing charity as an extension of evangelization. There was also plenty of time for lunch, faith-sharing and camaraderie, as well as discussion and shared experiences concerning corporal works of mercy.
