A Mass of Remembrance for deceased clergy of the Diocese was celebrated Nov. 5, with the community gathering in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to pray for the faithful servants who have died in the past year.
Those for whom prayers were offered included: Deacon Clarence Joseph “C.J.” Achée; Father Sebastian V. Annino; Msgr. William P. Brennan; Deacon Joseph Chandler; Msgr. Joseph V. DiMauro; Father Joseph R. Ferrara; Father Anthony L. Minniti, and Father Michael P. Rush.
“We pray with gratitude for them … for building up the local Church, and advancing the rule of God in South Jersey,” preached Bishop Dennis Sullivan, who celebrated the liturgy with Coadjutor Bishop Joseph Williams, and clergy of the Diocese.
“May they rest in a well-deserved peace,” he said, adding that may those who mourn be comforted in the hope of eternal life and the promise of the Resurrection.
