STRATFORD – Hundreds of families, young people, adults and parish leaders from various parishes in the Diocese gathered Nov. 22 to experience a day of deep faith, prayer and spiritual renewal.

Under the theme “Sent as Missionaries of Hope,” the 14th Diocesan Congress of the Hispanic Catholic Charismatic Renewal provided a space to reflect on the evangelizing mission of the Hispanic community, highlighting the importance of bringing Christian hope to families, parishes and society.

Held in the gym of Saint Luke Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Shrine, the day featured the participation of renowned Colombian preachers and musicians Alex Morelos and Iris Rodiño, who shared messages focused on the power of hope in the life of the believer.

Throughout the day, attendees also received spiritual guidance from Father Dalton Reyes, who accompanied the activities, led moments of prayer, and offered words of encouragement. Father Reyes serves in Saint Joachim Parish, Bellmawr, and Sacred Heart Parish, Camden.

The conference also included a healing service, Eucharistic Adoration and Mass.

Bishop Joseph Williams took part in the day’s celebrations. He not only participated in the Holy Hour, but also personally greeted attendees, visited with families, and heard firsthand testimonies of faith, gratitude and hope.

During his address, Bishop Williams encouraged the community to continue living their faith with courage, perseverance and joy, especially in the midst of daily challenges. He emphasized the importance of keeping Christian hope alive and sharing it with others through concrete actions of service and love for one’s neighbor.

Andrés Arango, the bishop’s delegate for Hispanic Ministry in the Diocese of Camden, said, “The conference was truly a sight to behold as the Holy Spirit moved, filling all those in attendance with a renewed faith. On Sunday, more than 100 prayer group leaders gathered for an intense day of formation, seeking to be even more faithful to the call to bring hope and spiritual accompaniment to the communities of South Jersey.”

One of the participants, Giovanni Garcia, shared how each year, the conference is a deeply rewarding experience for him and his family. He expressed his gratitude to God for the opportunity to attend.

He also shared that he is experiencing a particularly significant moment as a father, as his son has decided to follow the priestly path. Giovanni’s son is currently in his first year of seminary in Mexico. Garcia said seeing his son respond to God’s call is a blessing that reaffirms his commitment to continue growing in faith.
