Luisa Miranda

Luisa Miranda (nee Pizzaro), 85, of Camden, wife of the late Felix Miranda-Zayas, a permanent deacon of the Diocese of Camden, died Sept. 15.

Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, to the late Cayetana Pizzaro, she lived a life rooted in devotion to her Catholic faith, her family and the many simple joys that brought her peace and purpose.

She was active in her faith, serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, leading and scheduling of the lectors, and president of the Sociedad de Damas at Our Lady of Fatima Church (now part of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Camden) and Saint Anthony of Padua Church (now part of Saint Joseph Pro-Cathedral, Camden).

She also volunteered her time at the local food bank.

She was a devoted mother of Luis (Maria) Miranda, Jose (Marisol) Miranda, Wanda (Ronald) Miranda-Lattanzio, Rick (Jennifer) Miranda, and Zaida Aviles.

She was the grandmother of Amanda, Alyssa, Alexandra, Antonio, Andres, Michael, Christina, Ricardo Jr., Rolando, Britney, Briana, Annelis, Ed and Billy; great-grandmother of RJ, Amelia, Alaina, Scarlett, Sophia, Leanna, Leah and Analaya; and sister of Margot Pizzaro. She is also survived by many friends, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 24 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Interment followed at Arlington Cemetery in Pennsauken.
