The Diocese of Trenton recently hosted the Catholic bishops of New Jersey for their quarterly meeting. In addition to gathering for prayer and discussions Dec. 2 at the Chancery in Lawrenceville, Bishop Joseph Williams and his fellow shepherds welcomed Father Jonathan S. Toborowsky as the administrator for the Diocese of Metuchen. Father Toborowsky, who has served as the Metuchen Diocese’s vicar general since 2022, was appointed to his new role Nov. 20 – just days after Bishop James Checchio was named coadjutor archbishop of New Orleans. Tobin, CSsR, Archdiocese of Newark; and Bishop Emeritus Gregory J. Studerus and Auxiliary Bishop Michael A. Saporito, both from the Archdiocese of Newark.
