An Ocean City Knights of Columbus council has been sponsoring a billboard touting a text and voice hotline to help women facing unplanned pregnancies.
The billboard, which will remain in place in Absecon until March 2025, is sponsored by the Father Thomas F. Blake Council 2560, based in Saint Damien Parish. The billboard promotes LoveLine, a project of ProLove Ministries started by Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood director who resigned after witnessing an ultrasound-guided abortion. LoveLine helps women with financial coaching, crisis support and assistance with material needs through an individualized case management model.
“We knew we needed something eye-catching to get the attention of women in need of help, and this billboard was the best option. Women can call or text and immediately get the help they need,” said Knight Bob Zunino of Council 2560.
Locally, Council 2560 also supports the Jersey Shore Women’s Center in Galloway, which assists women with the care and support they need during and after pregnancy.
