Bishop Dennis Sullivan will lead a Diocesan Pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Held every two years, the pilgrimage allows participants the opportunity to explore the storied shrine, engage in private prayer, and celebrate Mass with the Catholic community of South Jersey.
The schedule of events for the day include
9:30-11 a.m., arrival at Basilica. Confession is available. Time to tour shrine, for private prayer, and to visit the gift shops.
11 a.m., official welcome
12 noon, time for lunch
1:30 p.m., procession of parishes, with banners, in the Great Upper Church. Multi-lingual rosary and crowning of the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary
3 p.m., Holy Mass with Bishop Sullivan; departure for home afterwards
