During Camden Catholic High School’s field hockey match against Paul VI High School on Oct. 3, the players came together to host a Morgan’s Message game in the name of promoting mental health awareness.
Senior Reagan Stauts, who is committed to play field hockey at Temple University, Philadelphia, next year, spoke to the crowd and teams about the importance of mental health among student-athletes and reminded the teams that help is available if they are struggling.
The players wore Morgan’s Message T-shirts during warm-ups, and student-made supportive signs surrounded the field.
Morgan’s Message is an organization that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and to equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletes.
Stauts started the Camden Catholic chapter of Morgan’s Message and plans to start one at Temple University next year.
