On Wednesday Sept. 21, 7 p.m. at Saint Thomas More Parish in Cherry Hill, Michael La Corte will speak on how God calls grandparents to the vocation of passing on the faith. La Corte is the U.S. director of the Catholic Grandparents Association.
His presentation will highlight how the Fourth Commandment, “Honor your Father and Mother,” calls us to follow and live by these instincts not only while we are children, but also as we become adults.
He will then offer practical information and open a discussion on the challenges grandparents and children face, how grandparents can support each other in fulfilling their vocation and spiritual and practical ways to help children and grandchildren.
La Corte spoke on the topic “Grandparents Passing on the Faith” at the 2015 World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia. He has also spoken extensively on religious topics throughout the United States and worldwide, including Russia, Rome and Portugal. He created and produced “One World Praying for Life and Peace,” a six-hour ecumenical event, broadcast live on EWTN-TV that featured people of all faiths praying together for life and peace.
