HADDON TOWNSHIP — The high school community of Paul VI here brought comfort to neighboring Haddon Township High School last week in a special liturgy. On Oct. 23, before the two teams played each other on the field, the Paul VI field hockey team invited their Haddon Township counterparts to a memorial Mass in honor of Ann Marie Lynch, former Haddon Township student/field hockey athlete, and member of Holy Saviour Parish, Westmont, who died suddenly in 2006. Father John Rossi, Director of Catholic Identity at Paul VI, celebrated the afternoon liturgy at St. Vincent Pallotti Church, Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, before the game. The AML Scholarship Fund was established at Haddon Township High School to memorialize Ann Marie, and last year at the ninth annual AML Memorial Game, Paul VI students bought the T-shirts, with proceeds benefitting the scholarship fund. This year is the 10th annual AML Memorial Field Hockey game, and it is now a tradition to play Paul VI in the contest. Later that evening, Paul VI defeated Haddon Township, 2-1, in their game.
