Saint Thomas More Church

With the parish’s former and current priests and faithful in attendance, Bishop Dennis Sullivan celebrated the 50th anniversary of Saint Thomas More Church in Cherry Hill on Oct. 21. In 1968, Bishop George Guilfoyle decreed the new parish with Msgr. John J. Clark, former superintendent of schools of the Camden Diocese and founding principal of Cherry Hill’s Camden Catholic High School, as pastor. Mass in the new parish was first celebrated in the chapel of nearby Saint Mary’s Catholic Home, until the completion of Saint Thomas More Hall and Chapel in 1973.
