Dr. Jacqueline “Jackie” Bearce, the sister of Msgr. Leonard Scott, died Nov. 20.
“Dr. Jackie,” as she was fondly known, was born Aug. 21, 1944, the second of three children for Dr. Leonard and Rubietta Scott of Bridgeton. She graduated from Merrimack College in 1966, earned her doctorate in educational psychology from UMass Amherst in 1981, and became a licensed psychologist.
She was a member of Hope Community Church, where she sang in the choir and served as a member of the Circle of Elders. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Bearce, and survived by her son, Ian (Megan) Bearce, her siblings, and extended family.
Burial was to take place Dec. 12 at Wildwood Cemetery, in Amherst, Mass.
