Bishop Dennis Sullivan was welcomed to Holy Angels Catholic School, Woodbury, with cards, balloons and hand-crafted spiritual bouquets March 17 in honor of his birthday.
“Thank you, Holy Angels!” Bishop Sullivan said, smiling as dozens of Pre-K to eighth-grade students finished singing “Happy Birthday.”
“Did you make these?” he asked a youngster holding a paper bouquet of flowers, a prayer intention written on the back of each one. Grateful, the Bishop said, “I need your prayers every day.”
Father Joseph Byerley, pastor of Holy Angeles Parish, remarked how Bishop Sullivan’s birthday was also Saint Patrick’s Day. “What a blessing that is for him and his family. May the Bishop always have the intercessions of Saint Patrick.”
