A Mass of remembrance and healing was celebrated on Monday evening, May 10 at St. Joseph’s Parish in Sea Isle City.
More than 150 deceased, sons and grandsons, daughters and granddaughters, were remembered by their parents and grandparents with photos on the altar, surrounded by flowers and candles. Parents were invited to light a candle for their children. Survivors were reminded that their deceased is in God’s loving embrace, and of God’s power to heal those with broken hearts.
The names of the deceased, the date of their death, and their parents or grandparents names were printed in the Mass booklet, as well as a list of resources for those grieving the loss of a loved one.
Msgr. Michael Mannion, director of the Office of Community Relations, Diocese of Camden, and Father Joseph A. Perreault, pastor of St. Joseph, concelebrated. Deacon Liam O’Clisham assisted.
