Catholics in Cape May and throughout the Diocese of Camden are praying for Msgr. Thomas McIntyre, 68, who is in intensive care at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, in Atlantic City.
Msgr. McIntyre hit his head after slipping on ice Feb. 13 and was taken by helicopter to the medical center in Atlantic City.
Msgr. McIntyre is pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Cape May and a columnist for the Catholic Star Herald.
On Feb. 19, the Press of Atlantic City printed a letter from the priest’s family, thanking the community for its support. “The outpouring of support for Msgr. McIntyre has been tremendous. It is inspiring beyond words to see how many lives he has touched and witness the love our community has for this man. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers during this trying period.”
The family also expressed gratitude to the Cape May Fire Department, Cape May Police Department, the Advanced Life Support and Medevac teams and AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
