On April 17 Cathedral Kitchen held a ribbon-cutting and open house for its new Café, which is set to open for business on May 12. The café is next to the 1514 Federal Street location of the kitchen and will seat 36. From Tuesday-Friday, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., the café will serve hot and cold sandwiches, soups, and salads. The eatery will also be available for corporate meetings and catered events, and a rooftop garden will provide fresh produce and herbs. Cutting the ribbon in front of the CK Café on April 17 were Jim Ehret, Ehret Construction Company; Bill Moen, Southern New Jersey representative for Sen. Cory Booker; Karen Talarico, executive director of the Cathedral Kitchen; Dana Redd, Mayor of Camden; Donna Siegel, board president of Cathedral Kitchen; James T. Plousis, chairman of the New Jersey State Parole Board; and New Jersey State Assemblymen Angel Fuentes and Gilbert “Whip” Wilson. Photo by James A. McBride
