Camden Catholic High School, Cherry Hill, held a Veterans Day Mass to honor those alumni who have served or are serving in the military, on Wednesday morning, Nov. 11. Celebrated by school president, Msgr. Andrew Martin, in the school chapel, the Mass included 25 veterans who are Camden Catholic alumni, in addition to family members of those alumni who have served or are currently serving. Msgr. Martin, in his homily, thanked all of the school’s veterans for what they have done for the Cherry Hill school and their country, while also noting that St. Martin of Tours, whose feast day was also Nov. 11, served for a time in the Roman army. The school hopes for a future monument on the grounds to honor those alumni who have been killed while serving their country. Above, Thomas Holland, Command Sgt. Major, U.S. Army Retired, and Camden Catholic High School class of 1968, presents a “leader coin” to Msgr. Martin after the service. The leader coins are given from military leaders to those soldiers under their service who have demonstrated exemplary performance.
