Dear Fellow Catholic School Teachers,
What a year!
Before we put 2020 in the rearview mirror, please take a moment to reflect on all the challenges you’ve met and overcome this past year.
You moved to remote teaching last March with roughly two days notice. You rewrote and redesigned your lessons while learning to use new technology on the fly. You addressed remote learning problems from home while troubleshooting students’ issues. Over the course of the Spring, despite having to care for your own children at home or family members who depended on you, you were also cheerleaders and counselors to your students. You’ve had to ‘pivot’ so many times, you resembled a Whirling Dervish. In September, you bravely and not without concerns, came back into the school building because you knew that your students needed you (YOU, in real life, in person) to be there for them.
God bless you for all you’ve done and all you continue to do. I’ve never been prouder to be a Catholic school teacher.I wish you a blessed Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!
