At the Chrism Mass, the bishop concelebrates with the priests of the diocese, consecrates the Holy Chrism, and blesses the Oil of the Sick and Oil of Catechumens for use in parishes throughout the year. The Chrism Mass also manifests the communion of the priests with the bishop in the same priesthood and ministry of Jesus.
