An Invitation and Hospitality Workshop will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 7-9:30 p.m., at Rowan Newman Center, Glassboro, in preparation for the Camden Diocese’s upcoming Theology on Tap programs.

“An important part of Christian evangelization, and of Theology on Tap, is invitation and hospitality,” said Andres Arango, director of Evangelization for the Camden Diocese.

Theology on Tap, a national program, brings Catholic evangelization and catechesis into area restaurants and bars where young adults congregate, engaging them with Christian speakers and topics. The workshop will focus on how best to bring invitation and hospitality to young adults wherever they are on their spiritual journey.

“Young adults, aged 18-39, constitute a tremendous diversity of people, including the married and the single, those in college and those in the working world, and those with and without children,” said Arango.

“Some of these young adults may be attending church services, while many are not. Hand in hand with invitation, hospitality is crucial in creating an environment that helps make young adults feel comfortable, engaged and welcomed to participate and to return and seek further involvement in young adult ministries.”

The four upcoming Theology on Tap sessions will all have a start time of 7 p.m., and $10 buffet charge. They are:

— Tuesday, Sept. 20: “Single? Dating? Married? How Does God Fit Into Modern Day Relationships?” with speaker Carolyn Gambale-Dirkes at Chickie’s and Pete’s, 6055 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Twp.; buffet includes their famous Crab Fries

— Wednesday, Nov. 9: “How To Walk On Water: Discipleship and Evangelization,” with speaker Mark Nimo, at Chickie’s and Pete’s

— Wednesday, Dec. 7: “How To Keep The Faith In A Secular World,” with speaker Linda Robinson, at Landmark Americana Tap and Grill, 1 East Mullica Hill Road, Glassboro

— Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012: “For God’s Sake or Pete’s? Reflections On a Relational God,” with speaker Msgr. Roger McGrath at Landmark Americana Tap and Grill.

Those interested in attending the Aug. 24 workshop, are asked to register by calling 856-583-6137, or e-mail csummers@camdendiocese.org
