To prepare families for the March 25 Diocesan Eucharistic Congress, an evening of teaching and prayer is planned at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Hammonton.

Parents, children and young adults are invited to the Family & Youth Night on March 23 that will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the church, 285 Route 206, Hammonton, a worship site of Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Parish.

National Eucharistic preachers Father Patrick Hyde, OP, and Father Joseph Jean-Louis from the Archdiocese of Miami, who will be visiting the Diocese for the Eucharistic Congress, will facilitate the bilingual event.

Father Hyde, along with members of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal (CFR), will be guiding young people in song, prayer and Adoration. He will be discussing the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

At the same time, Father Jean-Louis, accompanied by those from the Misioneras de Maria Formadora (MMF), will address parents in both English and Spanish about the importance of prioritizing the Eucharist.

“I am looking forward to this evening of reflection with our young people and their families,” said Jose Rodriguez, director of the Diocese’s Office of Family and Youth Ministry, which is sponsoring the event. “This opportunity for us to come together and be reminded that Christ truly makes himself present in the Blessed Sacrament is more important than ever, as the world continues to try to force us to question our faith. We must be proactive in giving our families the tools and support they need so that they can take up the evangelization efforts in their schools, places of work and more.”

Diocesan Eucharistic Congress

Faithful across South Jersey are invited to come together for the first-ever Diocesan Eucharistic Congress on March 25 at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion, 1 Harbour Blvd., Camden. The Congress will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and doors will open at 8 a.m. Admission and parking are free, and the Congress is open to individuals, families and groups.
