Dynamic preachers and a well-known podcaster are among the guest speakers at this year’s New Jersey Catholic Charismatic Conference.
The conference, which has as its theme, “Behold Him,” will be held Oct.27-28 at Saint Mary, Mother of God Church in Middletown, Diocese of Trenton. The weekend will include Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, a Eucharistic Procession, a healing service and workshops.
The conference will focus on the vision of the National Eucharistic Revival that looks to inspire “a movement of Catholics across the United States, healed, converted, formed and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist – and sent out on mission for the life of the world,” said Father Jeff Kegley, parish pastor.
The keynote speaker the evening of Oct. 27 will be Bishop Joseph A. Espaillat II, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New York. As the youngest Catholic bishop in the United States, he is known for rapping to young people in his community to help them connect with God. Additionally, he hosts a podcast called “Sainthood in the City.”
The keynote speaker Oct. 28 will be Father John Gordon, secretary for evangelization of the Archdiocese of Newark. Father Gordon is a dynamic preacher, teacher, evangelist and formation director of the Pre-Theologate program at Franciscan University of Steubenville. He also serves as the coordinator for the Charismatic Renewal. He is a former member of the National Service Team for the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and currently serves as a council member for Pentecost Today USA.
Gilbert Rodriguez, associate director of adult faith formation in the Archdiocese of New York, will lead the healing service that day.
