The joy of the Gospel was on full display as the Our Lady of Peace community came together for a parish picnic the afternoon of Aug. 17. Gathered to continue the momentum of the National Eucharistic Revival, some parishioners highlighted their respective ministries while others enjoyed food, games and face-painting outside the Williamstown church. “We felt it was important for our parishioners to continue to be aware that we are in this Eucharistic Revival – and drive home the point of sharing Jesus, and our joy in the Eucharist, with others,” said Joachim Cendana, pastoral associate for music and worship, communication and outreach.

In his opening prayer, Deacon James Hallman invited all to think about one or two people with whom they could journey throughout the next year. Invite others back to Mass or parish life, especially if they have been away from the Church, he urged, citing concepts from the Revival’s “Walk With One” initiative. “Walk With One” materials (eucharisticrevival.org/walk-with-one) were also placed on a table promoting the National Eucharistic Revival. “We really want the joy of the Eucharist and our love for Christ to extend into service and volunteering, in the parish and in the community as well,” Cendana said.
