
Bishop Joseph A. Williams, DD, has appointed Rev. Jon Peter Thomas to the Office of Vicar General of the Diocese of Camden, effective April 10, 2025. Father Thomas will remain pastor of Christ the King Parish, Haddonfield, while receiving additional pastoral support beginning July 1, 2025.
Father Thomas has been pastor of Christ the King Parish since 2020. Ordained to the priesthood in 2010 by the Most. Rev. Joseph Galante, Father Thomas previously served as pastor of the Parish of Saint Monica, Atlantic City (2015-2020); and as parochial vicar of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Shrine, Lindenwold (2014-15), and the Catholic Community of Christ Our Light, Cherry Hill (2010-14). In addition, Father Thomas serves on the Finance Council (2020-2025), and served on the Presbyteral Council (2012-2014).
Rev. Robert E. Hughes will continue to serve as Vicar General until June 30, 2025, at which time he will receive a new assignment within the Diocese of Camden. Father Hughes will serve as a mentor to Father Thomas, to assist him in acclimating to his role as Vicar General.
