Parishioners of the Diocese of Camden share how Pope Francis affected their lives and ministries, and reflect on being in Philadelphia for the 2015 World Meeting of Families with Pope Francis.
When Pope Francis visited Philadelphia in 2015, “he was truly delighted in seeing this sweet baby dressed up like him and asked his guard to bring him the baby to bless and sent back a message thanking the mother for bringing him joy and a good laugh to end his day. I was standing next to the couple and helped them get in position to be seen by Pope Francis, but we never expected this to happen. It was such a joyful and special moment. He was so genuinely delighted. His ever-vigilant guards even smiled and laughed.”

It moved me to become actively involved in serving my community, especially those most in need, and to strive to see Christ in everyone I encounter. That experience planted in me a love for helping others – one that I am blessed to now share with my own children and with all of my students from the various high schools I have served in the Camden Diocese.”
