BLACKWOOD – Generous benefactors of the Diocese of Camden – whose faithful support truly makes the Church visible in South Jersey – gathered for an evening of fellowship Nov. 18.
Hundreds enjoyed dinner and fellowship at The Forum Banquet Hall, after which seven leadership donors were inducted into the Society of Seraphim – those who have given $50,000 or more to diocesan fundraising efforts in the last fiscal year. Two benefactors were welcomed as Stewards of Saint Katharine Drexel – those who have given $100,000 or more.
Bishop Joseph Williams sent a video message expressing his gratitude to all diocesan benefactors, as he was representing the Diocese of Camden at the Mass of Welcome for the newly named coadjutor archbishop of New Orleans, Archbishop James Checchio – a native of Camden.
On behalf of Bishop Williams, Father Jon Thomas, vicar general of the Diocese of Camden, welcomed the new members of the giving societies, noting, “Your gifts empower vital ministries – from Catholic schools to charitable outreach – and build a legacy of love, service and generosity. Thank you for all you do!”
