As part of their Senior Service Project (Caritas), three students from St. Augustine Prep in Richland held a round-robin beach volleyball tournament at Washington Lake Park on Aug. 25 to help raise awareness for Autism Speaks, the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. The three boys worked over the summer and coordinated the event, which raised more than $900.
Ryan LaRosa, a seventh grade student at Resurrection Catholic in Cherry Hill, attended the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington D.C. July 26-Aug 1.
The Eighth Annual Browning Ross-Bob Kupcha “Run for the Fields,” a 5K run and 1-mile walk, will be held Oct. 26, 9 a.m., in National Park. The event benefits Gloucester Catholic’s Capital Campaign to build new athletic fields. Entry fee is $20 before Oct. 20, $25 after.
