Teresa Rose Dramesi, 57, a beloved teacher and athletic director at Saint Mary School, Williamstown, died on Jan. 21 after struggling with cancer. Dramesi taught fifth and sixth grade students at Saint Mary School for 24 years, and for the past 17 years has been the school’s athletic director.
She was instrumental in starting the school’s annual Crusader Day, a day for the community to celebrate all the sports at Saint Mary’s. Mrs. Dramesi also helped with various school activities throughout the year and, most recently, was leading the new Science Explorers Club.
“Teresa was a dedicated teacher who brought out the best in her students through the creative methods she used,” said Patricia Mancuso, principal.
Born in Philadelphia, Dramesi took pride in her Catholic schooling. She graduated from Our Lady of Loreto School in Southwest Philadelphia and Cardinal O’Hara High School, Springfield, Pennsylvania.
In honor of Mrs. Dramesi, eighth grade students wore arm bands with her initials at their traditional Catholic Schools Week volleyball game.
In addition, her current sixth grade class put together a memorial in their classroom, and wore green ribbons during the annual Catholic Schools Week pep rally.
“She always helped us and was very kind. We remember her always smiling and being funny. We miss you, we love you, and we know you are an angel,” said the words on the memorial.
Mrs. Dramesi is survived by her husband of 30 years, Leonard J. Dramesi III and son Nicholas G. Dramesi. She is also survived by her brother George Flocco (Helen), sister Kathryn Potok (Wayne), and nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Jan. 26 at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Williamstown. Interment followed at All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.
