Bishop Joseph Williams joined the community of Saint Simon Stock Parish in Berlin on Sept. 12 to celebrate Mass and enjoy the parish’s annual Harvest Festival that followed. Dozens of parishioners were on hand to make sure the festival was a success. Some dished out dinner favorites such as hot dogs and mac and cheese; others sold cakes, cookies and other baked goods. A talented few painted flowers, butterflies and other whimsical designs on children’s faces. In addition to Bishop visiting with the parish’s faithful and clergy – including Father Michael A. de Leon, AM, pastor – there was music and dancing, and games for all of the families and children.
