“Last but not least, Deanery 5,” Coadjutor Bishop Joseph Williams said the evening of Oct. 23 after being welcomed and told that he “had saved the best for last.”
Laughter and prayer greeted the bishop, who visited clergy, religious and parishioners during the afternoon and evening at Maris Stella Church, Saint Brendan the Navigator Parish, Avalon/Stone Harbor. The welcome event and Mass for Deanery 5 was the last in a series of deanery events across the Diocese of Camden over the past five weeks.
To the hundreds who attended Mass before the meet-and-greet and dessert, Bishop Williams reflected on the Gospel reading of Luke: “To whom much is given, much will be required. … If you are baptized, if you are confirmed, you are responsible for being missionary disciples,” he preached.
