The diocesan Black Catholic Ministry Commission announces the winners of the 2021 Taylor-Woodson Memorial Scholarship.
In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic and the fundraising challenges faced this year, the committee is very happy to announce that four awards were given to Diocese of Camden elementary school students who are now entering Catholic high schools. Winners were chosen based on their academics, activities, recommendation letters and autobiography.
Gabrielle Alexis Hampton graduated from Saint Mary School, Williamstown, and will attend Camden Catholic High School, Cherry Hill.
Michele Grace Haywood graduated from Saint Teresa Regional School, Runnemede, and will attend Camden Catholic High School.
Anthony Yeager graduated from Our Lady Star of the Sea Regional School, Atlantic City, and will attend Saint Augustine Preparatory School, Richland.
Joel Amegatcher graduated from Christ the King Regional School, Haddonfield, and will attend Camden Catholic High School.
Funding for the scholarships comes from Black Catholic Ministry Commission fundraising activities and also the Black and Indian Mission Office Grant. The commission thanks all who donated and supported the Virtual Afternoon of Jazz Scholarship Fundraiser this year.
