Sister Agnes Edward Henwood of the Dominican Sisters of Hope, Ossining, New York, died on Dec. 15 at St. Mary’s Catholic Home in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She was 101 years of age.
The daughter of the late Abraham Edward and Agnes Dougherty Henwood, she was born in Philadelphia. Her ministry was in congregational services at St. Patrick’s Convent in Woodbury, (1949-52); and several convents in New York.
Sister is survived by her siblings, brothers William Henwood of Voorhees, Thomas Henwood of Maryland, Del., Francis Henwood of Rochester, N.Y., and her sisters Margaret Dymond of Blackwood, and Louise Murphy of Cape May. Sister is predeceased by her brothers Edward, Jerome Joseph, Aloysius and her sisters Veronica Mosley and Agnes Heery. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at The Founders Chapel in Guzman Hall at Mt. St. Mary College, in Newburgh, N.Y., on Dec. 18.
